Doodling Away
Skating Nowhere in Canada
Ventured to the Middle of Nowhere, Canada last week with the dudes. We skated a hick ass park in Napanee and in a nearby college campus town called Kingston. Nappanee was fun but I got worked in Kingston. It had great spots but I was just skating like complete shit (as usual). I was real bummed and could only produce an illustration on par with the doodles that I would draw in my middle school notebooks while not paying attention in math class.

Truffles
I decided to experiment with painting gouache on top of tissue paper. Didn't really come out as awesome as I wanted it to. The reference for this painting is from thelondonbroil.com (fresh photos from Dan Bracaglia). My friend Dan shot a portrait of our good friend Steven about two months back and I figured this would be a good image to mess around with. Steve fucking rules. And if you know Dan please congratulate him for recently landing a spot on the staff at Popular Photography. Way to go dude.

Barely a Throwback
I did this Illustration for my first pictorial foundation project at the beginning of my sophomore year. I am beginning my junior year in a month so that was about a year ago. Is one year old considered a throwback? I don't know. Anywho, My pictorial teacher (Tim Bower) had told me a few times that this was my strongest piece from both semesters. Maybe my skills just began to suck more as time went on. There's nothing else from my pictorial portfolio on this blog so I guess its kind of hard to judge this theory. I'll just keep assuming that I suck and keep trying to get better.
Actually when your sick of looking at my blog go look up Tim Bower. He's real good at art and I learned a lot from him.
